International Security Fellowships

Research Fellowship (non-stipendiary)

This fellowship is destined for researchers working on topics related to the four core research areas of the Centre: nuclear security, states and non-state actors, grand strategy, and digital technology and security.

Research fellows are usually appointed for a ten-month period from September through June, but exceptions will be considered. Research fellows will be listed on our website, will benefit from access to the Hertie library and may be provided with desk space at the Centre, subject to availability.

Research fellows are expected to devote time to collaborative Centre endeavors and are expected to spend a significant portion of their fellowship in Berlin. They are expected to present their research in our research colloquium, attend Centre events, propose Centre activities on their own, and contribute to the Centre's research activities.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from junior as well as senior researchers who hold (or are in the processing of obtaining) a Ph.D. or equivalent degrees in political science, sociology or economics. We accept applications from citizens of all countries and encourage women and minorities to apply.
