Josefa Kindt is a Research Associate investigating intersections of pro-democratic political and social innovation. Academically situated in critical sociology and postcolonial studies, her research centres on local, regional and global social (in-)justice and (in-)equality issues. Since joining the Social Entrepreneurship as a Force for more Inclusive and Innovative Societies (SEFORÏS) research team in 2020, Josefa has been exploring interdisciplinary research designs to investigate alternative forms of economic organising. She supports the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa), a project led by the German Centre for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM). She studied Global Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, University of Pretoria and Chulalongkorn University, as well as Social and Cultural Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin. As the recipient of a Berlin University Alliance stipend, she led the inter-university research tutorial Social Entrepreneurship and/vs. Social Inequality. Her previous commitments include working in the policy and research Unit at the Bureau of Gender Affairs in Jamaica and for the Jamaican National Commission for UNESCO.
