Philipp Darius is a postdoctoral researcher at the Hertie School's Centre for Digital Governance and an affiliated researcher with the ERC-funded Digital Campaigning and Electoral Democracy (DiCED) project at the University of Manchester. During his time as a PhD Candidate at the Hertie School Philipp was also a visiting scholar at the Data Science Institute at the London School of Economics and a EUROLAB grant holder at GESIS - the Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences. In his postdoctoral research, Philipp continues to investigate the intersection of regulation, technology and democratic elections. His ongoing research addresses 1) the use of communication technology and data science methods in political campaigns, 2) the role of artificial intelligence in democratic elections and 3) the regulation of technology e.g., the EU Digital Services Act.
