Study in Paris and Berlin
SciencesPo’s School of Public Affairs in Paris and the Hertie School in Berlin have joined forces to offer a dual master’s degree programme in public policy.
This two-year programme combines the study of economics, public policy and management. It is designed for young professionals who navigate the borders of the public and private sectors and want to gain expertise in the management and evaluation of public policy in the European context.
During the first year, students are enrolled in SciencesPo’s MPP programme and take courses in Paris. In the summer after the first year, students move directly to Berlin and are enrolled in the Hertie School’s MPP programme. Before graduating at the end of the second year, students must complete a full-time internship of at least 6 weeks, which is usually done in the summer between the first and second year.
Students in the dual degree programme may not take a gap year and thus are unable to participate in the Hertie School's Professional Year programme.
Students pay the tuition fees stipulated by their host institution (SciencesPo for the first year and the Hertie School for the second year). For their year at the Hertie School, students with financial need are guaranteed a Hertie School tuition waiver worth 25% of the regular tuition fee.

The deadline for the dual-MPP programme with SciencesPo beginning in Fall 2025 is 23 March 2025.
Applicants can expect to receive a decision in May 2025.
