Melissa Rincón Granados holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Göttingen and a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the Freie Universität Berlin. Before joining the Hertie School she interned at the Colombian Embassy in Germany. Afterwards, she worked as Research Assistant for the German-Colombian Peace Institute CAPAZ. Melissa gained valuable professional experience within the field of international development cooperation at the German development agency GIZ in Berlin, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Rio de Janeiro, the KfW Development Bank in Frankfurt and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Geneva. She is fluent in Spanish, German, English and Portuguese.
