Matthias Goedeking is a doctoral researcher at the Hertie School's Centre for International Security. Matthias obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Berlin University of Arts and holds a Master in International Affairs from the Hertie School. His research interests include irregular armed conflicts, terrorism, and civilian-insurgent interactions. For his master's thesis, he analysed geocoded data on civilian harm during Operation Inherent Resolve to investigate local terrorist backlash.
