Aliya Boranbayeva turns complex technology into engaging narratives that resonate with people. With master’s degrees in Public Management from Potsdam University and Finance from Cardiff University, she combines policy, finance, and creativity in the tech space.
At the Hertie School Data Science Lab, she leads communications and events, showcasing research, its impact, and AI and data science projects for wider audiences. Her international experience spans the United Nations (UNODC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Her path into tech is unique. As a former artist, editor, Public Relations specialist, and fashion designer, she brings a creative mindset to problem-solving. Having lived in multiple countries, she applies a global perspective to community-building, particularly with Women in Big Data Berlin where she volunteers.
