Katarzyna Batko-Tołuć is a Programme Director and a Board Member of the Citizens Network Watchdog Poland. Through litigation, advocacy and building a grass-roots social movement, the organisation aims to enforce freedom of information, freedom of speech, transparency of governments and accountability of decision making. It works with more than 300 activists, bloggers, journalists, organisations and groups all over Poland. It also provides thousands of individual consultations and is present in national, local and specialist media. Katarzyna was named a social innovator by Ashoka (2009). Additionally, she takes part in different national initiatives aiming at impacting decision making in Poland and is a member of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum’s Solidarity Group and an expert in civil society and political systems for the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and V-Dem Institute in Sweden. She graduated with a degree in sociology at Warsaw University (2000).
