Szymon Ananicz is a senior expert at Stefan Batory Foundation in Warsaw. He covers EU policies, rule of law reagrding the situation in Poland and runs advocacy campaigns directed at EU institutions. Before joining the Foundation, he worked as adviser to a member of the European Parliament, focusing on EU funding for civil society, challenges to rule of law and EU constitutional issues. In 2015-17 he worked as Team Coordinator and later as Knowledge Management/ Monitoring Coordinator at the European Endowment for Democracy in Brussels. In 2009-2015, he was a policy analyst on Eastern Partnership countries and Turkey at the Centre for Eastern Studies, a government think-tank in Warsaw. He studied in Poland, Turkey and in the UK and holds a Master of Arts in international relations from Collegium Civitas, Warsaw.
