A presentation and discussion by Senior Research Fellow Dr. Marian Feist. Hosted by the Centre for Sustainability.
The negotiations around a new goal for financial support for climate action in developing countries took centre stage at this year’s UN climate summit in Baku. This new goal would succeed the commitment to mobilise USD 100 billion dollars annually by 2020. At the summit, which took place amid heightened international tensions and saw the resurgence of old conflict lines among parties, the deliberations proved as difficult as the preliminary talks had indicated.
At this Centre for Sustainability event, Dr Marian Feist will contextualise COP 29 within the broader state of affairs in international politics and reflect on what shaped its dynamics on the ground. Following the presentation, there will be the opportunity to discuss and ask questions.
