Jorge Sánchez is a PhD candidate in the Governance Programme and is affiliated with the Centre for Sustainability at the Hertie School. He is also Teaching Assistant at the Hertie School, Econ II department. Before his PhD, Jorge worked as research associate at the Centre for Sustainability and research assistant at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change. Jorge holds a Master of Public Policy, concentration of Policy Analysis (Hertie School), for which he defended the thesis 'Energy crises, price caps and side effects. A casual inference study of the Iberian cap on gas using OLS'. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Philosophy, Politics and Economics by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Pompeu Fabra and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. His research focuses on the the role of demand flexibility in the electricity market as a critical factor for successfully navigating the transition to a decarbonized society.
