Martyna Kalvaitytė is a PhD candidate in the Governance program under the supervision of Prof. Joanna J Bryson. Martyna focuses on AI governance and regulation, particularly the standardisation processes to meet EU AI Act needs. They are the Article 19 Internet of Rights Fellow for 2023/24 and freelance researcher for the VDE. Previously, Martyna worked on the EU innovation policy and the DMA as a Blue Book trainee at the EC DG CNECT. They have worked on AI governance at GPAI (OECD) and AI standardisation at AXA's AI research team. Her interest in AI governance stems from privacy research, which she has pursued across startups, NGOs and think tanks across Lithuania, Washington DC and India. Martyna graduated with distinction from Sciences Po Paris with a Master's in Public Policy, Digital and New Technologies.
