Dr. Nils aus dem Moore is Director with a focus on systemic transformation and energy transition at Christ & Company, a Berlin-based boutique consulting firm that combines advisory and investment to advance decarbonization across all sectors and the overall changeover towards a sustainable economy. Since 2021, he is also an Adjunct at the Hertie School, where he is affiliated with the School’s Centre for Sustainability and has been teaching regularly since spring 2020. Until autumn 2023, he worked for 16 years at RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, inter alia as Head of the research group “Sustainability and Governance” (since 2014), Head of the Berlin office (2019-2022), and Head of the communication department (2013-2018). His research focused on the design and political economy of sustainability policies and concepts of sustainable welfare and its comprehensive measurement. He was a member of the working group “Welfare Measurement” in the Enquete study commission “Growth, Wellbeing and Quality of Life” of the German Bundestag from January 2011 to April 2013. Prior to joining RWI, Nils aus dem Moore worked for two and a half years as Executive Editor for Business and Economics at the German monthly political magazine “Cicero”. He holds diploma degrees in Journalism from Technische Universität Dortmund (with credits from studying abroad at IHECS – Brussels School of Journalism and Communication) and in economics from Freie Universität Berlin, a PhD in empirical public economics from Ruhr-Universität Bochum and a certificate in “Leading Sustainable Corporations” from SAΪD Business School at Oxford University.
