Evie Ackery is a PhD researcher at the Hertie School with research interests at the intersection of economics and climate policy. Specifically, she studies how land-based carbon dioxide removals, such as afforestation, are incentivised. Evie’s background is in translating evidence into policy; as a Civil Servant in the United Kingdom she held various roles related to bridging the gap between academia and government. In 2022, she began a Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School, alongside a research position at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change. She holds a first class BA Degree in Geography from the University of Oxford.
