From the war between Israel and Gaza to the Foreign Policy Podcast Ones And Tooze – these events have kept us busy during the last month.
The November edition of the Hertie School's newsletter "What's New?" is out. While the war between Israel and Hamas continues to shock the world, on campus, these events have raised many questions and sparked debates. This edition thus lays a focus on the escalated violence.
- In a closed event, faculty and students analysed the conflict from different academic perspectives, looking at terrorism, disinformation and human rights on the ground.
- Our adjunct professors and security experts Dr Gil Murciano and Dr Cornelius Adebahr shared their analysis of what will follow next in a number of media contributions.
Furthermore, we featured:
- a new research article by Assistant Professor of International Relations Shubha Kamala Prasad on why member states of the United Nations Human Rights Council don't throw stones while sitting in a glass house. This means they don't call out human rights atrocities when they have insurgencies in their home countries;
- Professor of Organization, Strategy and Leadership Johanna Mair's appointment to the German Research Ministry's Advisory Board on social innovation;
- a live recording of the Foreign Policy hit podcast Ones and Tooze on all things German politics, economics and education; and
- many more exiting stories.
