The event brought together nearly 150 alumni and students for an evening of networking and (re-)connecting.
Last Thursday 19 September, the Hertie School community gathered for the traditional Berlin Chapter Summer Party, jointly hosted by the Berlin Alumni Chapter and the Alumni Office. Berlin Chapter Leads Sarah Chávez, Sascha Al Dahouk, and Ximena Docarmo welcomed the incoming students into the Hertie community and introduced some of the activities and events the Berlin Alumni Chapter has lined up for the academic year ahead.
Throughout the evening, students had the chance to network with alumni, gaining valuable insights into their academic experiences and career journeys after graduation. A few students even walked away with prizes for their exceptional networking skills.
This event was part of an onboarding session for incoming students hosted by the Hertie School’s Career Development department. The session included an Alumni Insights Panel on “How to find a job in Berlin” with alumni panellists Ma. Adelle Gia Arbo (MDS 2023), Horacio Pezzelatto (MPP 2023), and Madhumitha Srini (MIA 2023), who shared their post-graduation experiences and insights on navigating the Berlin job market.
With over 1,000 members, the Berlin Alumni Chapter is the largest and one of the most diverse groups in the alumni network, bringing together German and international alumni from across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
