Former students (re)connect and plan future activities together in Milan and Rome.
On 15 September, the Hertie School launched the North Italy Alumni Chapter in Milan and Rome. In Milan, over ten alumni based in Milan, Turin and Verona joined us for the inaugural event with a traditional Milanese aperitivo. The day before, against the scenic backdrop of Rome, another group of Hertie School alumni joined the first official meetup in their city. Dr Axel Baisch, Managing Director of the Hertie School, shared updates from the Hertie School and plans to expand our recruitment efforts in the country and highlighted the critical role that alumni play as ambassadors for the school. Nena Grceva, Director of Alumni Affairs, discussed some initial ideas on how to engage alumni in Italy, and Mariana Florio from the Student Recruitment team led a discussion on alumni's student experience at Hertie.
The launch of the North Italy Alumni Chapter and the meetup in Rome were a unique opportunity for alumni to meet Hertie School leadership, (re)connect with each other, reminisce about their student days at Hertie and plan future activities together. Many of them used the words “lifechanging” and “transformative” to describe their experiences at the university.
We warmly welcome Alessandra Bracchi (MPP 2019) as chapter lead and Gianluca Greco (MPP 2019) as a local contact for Rome. They will join other dedicated alumni volunteers from around the world who are generously supporting the school with their time and talent and keeping our global alumni network thriving.
The North Italy Chapter is the 16th alumni chapter in the Hertie School’s global alumni network, which also includes chapters in Bogotá, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Mexico City, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Rhineland, South Germany, Toronto, Vienna, Washington, DC, and of course Berlin.
