2021 DAAD Prize and Dean’s Prize for academic achievements and engagement

The DAAD Prize winner is Eduardo Campbell Bethancourt, MPP, and the Dean’s Prize goes to Francesca Minetto, MPP.

The Hertie School presented its 2021 DAAD Prize and Dean’s Prize to two Master of Public Policy students on 10 November, honouring them for their outstanding academic achievement and engagement.

Francesca Minetto, the winner of the 2021 Dean's Prize, was honoured for her work in building bridges across the EU through her leadership in driving the student-run CIVICA competition, FuturEU. The project invites teams of students from around Europe to compete in finding solutions to major EU issues.

The DAAD Prize was given to Eduardo Campbell Bethancourt for his engagement in advancing social and intercultural understanding and his anti-discrimination efforts both inside and outside the Hertie School.

Acting President Mark Hallerberg announced the award winners at this semester’s All-Students Meeting, held online.

The DAAD prize of 1,000 euros is awarded by the German Academic Exchange Service and financed by the German Foreign Office. It aims to highlight the many international students at German universities and honour both their academic excellence and social or intercultural engagement.
