Priority deadline coming up: Apply by 15 February (EU/EEA applicants)

With the EU/EEA priority deadline just around the corner, now is the perfect time to submit your application for Fall 2026 entry to the Master of Public Policy (MPP), Master of International Affairs (MIA), or Master of Data Science for Public Policy (MDS) at the Hertie School.

If you’re an EU/EEA applicant and you’d like to be considered for partial and/or full scholarships, we strongly recommend applying by 15 February.

Why apply by the priority deadline?

Applying by 15 February gives you increased chances receiving full or partial scholarship support. Our scholarship opportunities are processed on a rolling basis, therefore applicants that submit their application for the priority deadline have a higher chance of being awarded. 15 February is also the deadline for many of our full scholarships.

What you’ll need to submit

The application process remains straightforward. As part of your online application, you will be asked to upload:

  • Your CV
  • A letter of motivation
  • Copies of your academic transcripts – these can be unofficial copies for now
  • English proficiency certificate or proof

As a reminder, letters of recommendation are now fully optional for the MPP, MIA, and MDS programmes.

For help with your application, see our application guide and tips series!

Submitting your application is simple:

  • Create an account in our online application portal
  • Select “Graduate Programmes (MPP, MIA, MDS)”
  • Click on your programme[s] of interest and fill out the application form in full. You can upload all of your documents electronically.

Funding: a separate process after admission

Please note that funding applications are separate from programme admissions. Admitted students will receive the funding application and instructions after receiving their admissions decision. Complete information on that process can also be found on our blog

Our Student Funding Office is there to support you in identifying external funding opportunities. Have you tried searching with our Funding Navigator yet? If you need some guidance, send them an email at student-funding[at]hertie-school[dot]org or join one of our upcoming Admissions & Funding Office Hours.
