Event highlight: Enhancing women's representation in leadership roles in administrative digitisation

After presenting the main results of our collaborative policy brief with Deloitte, our panelists discussed their experience of continuously breaking the leadership ceiling. They put forward the importance of work culture, mentoring, and networks within and amidst women’s leadership roles.

After presenting the main results of our most recent collaborative policy brief with Deloitte on enhancing women's representation in leadership roles in administrative digitisation (The Future is Parity), our panelists discussed their experience of continuously breaking the leadership ceiling. Analysing the main results, the speakers proposed strategies and measures to increase the proportion of women in administrative digitisation.

Find the main policy recommendations of the brief below:

1. Establishing quotas and embedding gender parity issues in every department or agency.

2. Adapting work structures to include flexible time models, job sharing, and remote work options.

3. Encouraging a cultural shift within organisations to reduce structural disadvantages for women.

4. Promoting public and internal visibility of women in administrative digitalisation roles.

The panel discussion was followed by an informal networking session.

We want to extend a big thank you to all participants who came to the event, to Dr. Alina Köchling and Johanna Klein for presenting the findings, to our panelists for the insightful discussion, to Felix Dinnessen for the moderation, and finally to Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hammerschmid and Antje Matten for the welcome.

This event was coorganised by the Centre for Digital Governance and Deloitte in collaboration with the women@NExT network.
