On 20 October 2022, Dr Derya Ozkul, AFAR project lead at the University of Oxford, shared her insights based on her mapping research for an AFAR report on the use of new technologies in Europe in an in-person event organised by the University of Essex and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the context of their collaborative project, 'Strengthening Human Rights Protection in the Use of AI Technologies at Borders', in Geneva.
Earlier, on 25 July 2022, Dr Ozkul had shared the preliminary findings of the mapping report in an online meeting co-organised by the University of Essex and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the context of the same project.
