The Russian invasion of Ukraine and related surge of international fossil resource prices as well as the possibility of fossil energy trade disruptions is a fundamental challenge to European Union energy and climate policy.
What are the core elements of this challenge? What are EU short- and mid-term options for responding to them? Does the current crises suggest slowing down the implementation of the Fit-for-55 package, or does it reinforce the case for it? How to ensure social balance in the current energy crisis as well as future climate policy efforts?
These questions will be adressed by a panel of distinguished speakers:
