The Hertie School's Professional Year Programme offers your organisation the opportunity to engage talented students for 9 to 15 months. During this time, students pause their studies to gain practical experience and return to their academic journey with valuable insights from the workplace.

The Hertie School’s Summer Internship Programme connects your organisation with talented students seeking real-world experience. These internships, completed between their first and second years, often lead to collaborations on master theses addressing your institution's key challenges.

The Hertie School invites you to our Annual Career Fair! Our diverse group of students and alumni come from all five programmes: the Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs, Master of Data Science for Public Policy, Executive Master of Public Administration, and our Doctoral Programme in Governance. Representing a truly international student body, our participants hail from various countries, bringing global perspectives and unique insights. Executive students typically have 5-10 years of work experience, second-year students are ready to enter the job market, and first-year students are actively seeking internships, student jobs, or Professional Year positions. We are particularly interested in featuring English-speaking employers.
The Fair is free for non-profits and public sector organisations, with a fee for private sector companies. Enjoy networking opportunities with coffee, cake, drinks, and snacks provided.

Through the Hertie School Policy Lab, Hertie School students engage in hands-on learning experiences that tackle real-world policy and governance challenges. Whether through semester-long Project Courses or intensive two-day Policy Sprints, students work directly with external organisations to address complex issues.
These learning experiences are a great way to expose students to real world problems while addressing key challenges in your organisation. As a partner, you can define the challenges, mentor students, and provide feedback on their proposals.
