A presentation by Shani Bar Tuvia (PhD), Physicians for Human Rights Israel. The event is hosted by the Centre for Fundamental Rights.
The presentation will review some of Physicians for Human Rights Israel's (PHRI) recent work across its four departments, focusing on the right to health of: (1) Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories; (2) prisoners and detainees; (3) refugees and migrants; and (4) citizens and residents of Israel. In addition, it will more broadly examine the role and challenges of human rights organisations working in Israel today.

Speakers
Shani Bar Tuvia (PhD) is the Director of the “Health Policy in Israel” Department at Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI). Her doctoral research examined the interaction between Israel’s restrictive asylum policies and those of other Western states. Before joining PHRI, she spent several years working with a coalition of refugee rights organisations. She holds an MA in International Relations and a BA in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies. Shani is currently a visiting practitioner at the Centre for Fundamental Rights.
