Sebastian Wende decided to join the Hertie School and specialise in international affairs and security after reading "World in Danger: Germany and Europe in an Uncertain Time" by Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger. Sebastian studied business administration at the Freie Universität Berlin, majoring in strategic management. At that time, he represented Germany at the 2016 European Championship of Public Speaking. Later, he specialised in international, diplomatic and consular affairs, joined the Bolivian Foreign Service and served in various diplomatic positions at the Embassy of Bolivia to Germany, Switzerland, Poland, and Romania. During his studies, he worked for the German G7 Presidency, with US Special Presidential Envoy John Kerry and at the Executive Chair's Office of Global Bridges in Berlin.
