Robert Schirmer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Würzburg. During his studies at the Hertie School and his exchange semester at Sabanci University in Istanbul, he specialised in security studies, energy and climate policy as well as social policy. During his Professional Year Robert gained experience at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection, as a Project Management Assistant at an NGO, at a security think tank and as a Research Intern to Professor Lukas Graf at the Hertie School. In the context of his volunteer work for Understanding Europe, he engaged young pupils on European issues and a more conscious use of media. He is especially interested in opportunities in public administration and the third sector.
