Cornelius Lauritzen is an international affairs graduate in the security and sustainability track. At the Hertie School, he specialised in security studies and environmental security. After his first year at the School, Cornelius worked for one year at BwConsulting, the in-house consultancy of the German Ministry of Defense, as a Senior Fellow. After that, Cornelius spent a semester at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Cornelius holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Augsburg. During his bachelor studies he interned at the United States Consulate-General in Frankfurt am Main, at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung UN Office in New York City and he worked part-time as a paramedic at the Bayrisches Rotes Kreuz.
