Etienne Höra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Political Science from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in cooperation with Sciences Po Aix-en-Provence. During his studies at the Hertie School and his stay at the Geneva Graduate Institute, he focussed on European governance, international trade and its intersection with geopolitics – an interest that he also pursued during a traineeship in the strategy unit at the European Commission’s DG TRADE. He takes a keen interest in the EU’s relations with China and ASEAN and has published on environmental norms under the Belt and Road Initiative, the EU-ASEAN strategic partnership and on other issues. He has been active at Polis180, a young grassroots think tank for foreign and European affairs, of which he has been co-president since 2022.
