Verena Wingerter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Governance from the University of Freiburg. At the Hertie School, she studied international affairs where she also founded the Hertie School Security Club. Her research focuses on international security with specialisations on the nexus of security and technology and Eastern European security. She has spent exchange semesters at the George Washington University as well as MGIMO University in Moscow, Russia. Verena has professional experience as a Research Assistant at Freie Universität Berlin and interned at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. Currently, she works as a threat intelligence researcher at DCSO Deutsche Cyber-Sicherheitsorganisation, where she did a Professional Year and which serves as praxis partner for her thesis on US cyber strategy.
