Tilman Leicht holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and North American Studies from Universität Regensburg, during which he also studied in the US and worked in journalism. Tilman is most concerned with the security dimension of transatlantic relations. At the Hertie School, he specialised in matters of nuclear weapons and the energy transition. Tilman spent his Professional Year in Brussels as the Carlo-Schmid-Fellow at NATO Headquarters' Nuclear Policy Directorate. He then continued his studies in Washington DC, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Furthermore, he worked in strategic communications as a Trainee at the Brunswick Group in Brussels and as an Analyst for Energy Policy at Guidehouse in Berlin.
