Laura Sabogal holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Resource Management from the Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg with a semester abroad at Istanbul Technical University. During her MPP at the Hertie School she specialised in climate and energy policy analysis. During her master’s studies, Laura worked at the NAMA Facility, a multi-donor fund under the auspices of the German development agency GIZ, with a portfolio of EUR 667 million supporting ambitious climate mitigation action in developing and emerging economies. During this time, she led the analysis of countries' Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to advise donors' funding decisions. Prior to the Hertie School, she worked as a Project Manager and consultant in a boutique consulting firm at the interface of sustainable inclusive finance and clean energy advising financial institutions in the design of green financial mechanisms. After graduation, Laura will join the independent climate think-tank E3G as a Policy Advisor for Sustainable Finance.
