Nele Harder holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. At the Hertie School she studied international affairs, with a focus on international security, digital policy and European governance. During her Professional Year, she worked as a Junior Officer at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, specialising in international digital policy. She gained other work experience at the Goethe-Institut in Buenos Aires, the Argentine Embassy in Berlin, the German Bundestag, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Dar es Salaam and the FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik. She spent her second year at the Hertie School on exchange at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.
