Maia Haru Hall holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics and Japanese from the University of Edinburgh. At the Hertie School she studied public policy, specialising in climate and energy, as well as analysing demographic trends and social policy. During her Professional Year, Maia worked at the Berlin-based policy consultancy adelphi and at the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), working on emissions trading and carbon pricing more broadly. Prior to the Hertie School, Maia worked in the International Affairs Department of the Kyoto Prefectural Government in Japan. During her master’s studies she continued working part-time at adelphi and ICAP, focusing on the Asia-Pacific region. Maia is interested in opportunities in the climate and energy space and has particular experience in writing and communications.
