Lea Gimpel has been working at the intersection of technology, policy and international development with the German development agency GIZ for a decade. She currently co-leads the project "FAIR Forward – Artificial Intelligence for All", funded by the German Federal Government’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy. In November 2022, she will join the Digital Public Goods Alliance as a Senior Advisor on behalf of the GIZ. She holds a Master of Arts in Communications for Social and Economic Contexts from Berlin University of the Arts and specialised in digitalisation and big data during her Executive MPA at the Hertie School. She is the recipient of the Digital Leadership Scholarship and was a member of the Centre for Digital Governance’s Student Advisory Board. She is a board member of the Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland.
