Jana Elbrecht has a strong interest in climate policy and diplomacy. At the Hertie School she studied international affairs with a security and sustainability focus. During her Professional Year, she worked with the carbon markets team at adelphi and the land use team at Climate Focus. She has co-written publications on carbon pricing, nature-based solutions to climate change and sustainable food systems. Throughout the second year of the MIA programme, she continued working with Climate Focus and was on the team of a global youth partnership for climate advocacy called We Are Tomorrow. Previously, she graduated summa cum laude from University College Utrecht with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in political science & international law and a minor in mathematics.
