Emma Louise Leahy studied international affairs at the Hertie School as the 2020-22 Scholar in International Security Policy. Her research interests are at the intersection of politics, visual culture and the material environment in Russia and Europe, the Arabian Peninsula and North America. Her focus on cultural policy stems from work experience with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and as a volunteer at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. She has prior experience as a Middle East Analyst at global law firm Dentons and as an Intern in both chambers of the US Congress. She completed her undergraduate studies at HSE University, Sciences Po Dijon and the Honors College of George Mason University.
