Tips that every MPP, MIA, MDS applicant should know

Have you checked out these tips for a great MPP, MIA or MDS application yet?

Whether you’re adding the finishing touches for your application ahead of the 1 February priority deadline or just getting started, our application tips for the Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs and the Master of Data Science are a great resource for all prospective students. Here’s a roundup:

The art of (letter of motivation) writing

One of the most important documents in your application is your letter of motivation, which gives your CV and academic transcripts context and shows us your personality and ambitions.

Your CV: Show us what you’ve got!

Your curriculum vitae is one of the first things we see when we open your application, and we look at it to assess your personal suitaiblity for our master's programmes.

Transcripts: More than just grades

Your transcripts help us assess your performance in an academic setting. While they are just one component in our holistic evaluation approach, your transcripts can tell us a lot about you.

The English requirement

English proficiency is one of our more clear-cut admissions requirements – you must meet the standards we set. But you can apply now and submit them later (by 1 June) at no disadvantage.

If, after perusing through these tips and checking out our FAQs, you still have questions about your application, don’t hesitate to send an e-mail to grad-admissions[at]hertie-school[dot]org or register for an upcoming admissions office hour.

Remember to submit your application in our online application portal by 1 February in order to be considered for priority admissions and scholarships!
